PokerPadz® Poker Dogs Joe Sebok WPT Legends of Poker

We are down to the final 6 players at the WPT Legends of Poker 2007 here in Bell Gardens, California at the Bicycle Casino.

The final table will start at 5pm and it is a live show, so come on down to the Bicycle Casino to be apart of this final table taping.

The events leading up to the final 6 have been astounding. Joe Sebok was the chip leader through out most of this tournament only to bust out number 7, other wise known as "bubble boy."

This is so heartbreaking, as this is Joe's second WPT event that he has busted out number 7 hence not making it to the final table.

I think Joe describes how he feels best in his own words "it really just sucks the ass of a goat. There just isn't any other way to say it."

Here's how the final hand played out:

Sebok raised to $120,000 from middle position and was reraised by Schneider out of the small blind. Sebok moved all in, and Schneider called. Sebok tabled pocket queens, and Schneider showed AJ. Sebok retained the lead on the flop when it came 652. However the turn brought a crushing A, and Sebok was drawing to two outs. The river was a brick when it came 10, and Sebok was sent to the rail in seventh place. A sick silence spread throughout the room and disappointment was written across Sebok’s face as he left the room. Many may remember that Sebok was also the television bubble boy at the 2006 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star and the sting of this repeat effect hung heavy in the room. After this development on the bubble, the final six were set and play ended for the night. They will return tomorrow at 5 p.m. to play for the $1,634,865 and the title of Legends of Poker champion.

Here is how things will look this evening:

Seat No. 1 - Shi Jia Liu - $1,305,000
Seat No. 2 - Dan Harrington - $2,230,000
Seat No. 3 - Tom Schneider - $3,495,000
Seat No. 4 - Thu Nguyen - $1,475,000
Seat No. 5 - David 'The Dragon' Pham - $470,000
Seat No. 6 - Mike McClain - $725,000

Tune in to catch all the action live from the Bicycle Casino or live blogging at Cardplayer and World Poker Tour starting at 5pm!

We will see what I fetch next time....

PokerPadz® Poker Dogs Lights, Camera, Poker!

I just returned from my 2 month trip to Sydney, Australia and I must say that a blogger would not survive in that country. Unfortunately their internet is much slower than our dial up method, MUCH slower, in fact so much that it wasn't possible to even upload a JPG file to an email or to a browser. Apparently Telstra is the only cable provider in the country and some how they have managed to put a hold on what they allow and don't allow. It doesn't make any sense to me how business's would put up with this because it definately is affecting their business. Apparently in some parts of the country, some blokes have secured a faster line some how but I never saw it, therefore, I can not confirm that rumor.

Other than that minor problem the country itself is beautiful and the people couldn't be any nicer. It's winter this time of year and of course it ended up being the coldest and rainest winter in history.

I flew over there to launch the start up of a new company called Lights, Camera, Poker! This Australian based production company that produces web streams, TV shows, etc... for Australia and worldwide markets.

We produced 3 shows in 3 weeks - a bit ambious if truth be told but we did it and we did it well. I included a photo of the "behind the production" scenes that most don't get to see. Once the show is complete it's usually late in the wee hours where the rental houses aren't opened so the expensive camera's, etc... have to be brought back to the producers house for security until they are returned the next day. Nothing like carrying 8 cameras, tripods, shot tape, etc... up 3 flights of stairs only to return it several hours later after shooting and striking for the past 20 hours! Good times.....

Anyway, we shot the APL's Pro Series at Roory Hill RSL club the first weekend, the APL's State Championships at Burwood RSL club and the Wild Turkey APL Tournament of Champions at Luna Park the following weekend. I will post each of these events and photo's seperately as there is a lot of information about all 3.

Production is complete for these 3 shows and we are now editing, etc... so stand by because in the near future these will be available through an APLTV channel that will be powered by Poker Netcast

I have returned back to the USA for awhile and I expect to return to Sydney, Australia again to assist with the next phase of "Lights, Camera, Poker!"

We will see what I fetch next time....
