MS Team PokerPadz WPT LA Poker Classic battle of the Phil's

Today is the final table of the World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic at the Commerce Casino.

The buy-in was $9,900, 665 players equaling $6,288,000 in total prize pool....

Jennifer Tilly finished 12th - way to go Jennifer taking home a cool $61,610!

And an excellent performance by Mike Watson, finishing 10th taking home $61,610, as well. He played in the Poker Netcast home game the night before the main event and I'm confident that playing in this game helped him to brush up on his poker skills and allowed him to finish so strong. He's an excellent commentator and can be watched at www.pokernetcast.com in a few weeks.

So, we are down to the final 6 players and it's come down to the battle of the Phil's:

Chip count

1. Phil Ivey 4,100,000
2. Scott Montgomery 2,680,000
3. Phil Hellmuth 2,380,000
4. Charles Moore 1,510,000
5. Quinn Do 1,450,000
6. Nam Le 1,180,000

Which Phil will prevail if any?!?!?!

My prediction is that Phil Hellmuth will win this entire event. He may not have the most chips starting today but he certainly has the most experience and that alone is priceless.

Something that most people may not know about Phil is his generous heart. Even though he is known in the poker world as the "Poker Brat," Phil is actually a very nice and generous man.

After finishing late last evening Phil and Kathy personally donated a chunk of change and sponsored me in the upcoming MS Society walk. How cool is that?!?!?! This man has many things on his mind, like winning this event yet takes the time last evening confirming his donation after playing down to the final 6.

Now that is one committed man, not only to poker but to life.

I hope others will follow in his footsteps (Thank you Jan Fisher for your donation last evening) and continue to donate to this wonderful cause.

This year we are not only trying to find a cure for MS but we would like to show the rest of the world that the poker community is filled with generous, giving and caring people.

You can personally donate to our team by clicking this link - MS PokerPadz Team and/or feel free to join our walking team. Either way it's a commitment that truly helps others.

Good luck PH, may the poker gods be by your side tonight....

We'll see what I fetch next time....

Poker Netcast and Two Rags Home Game

Layne Flack, Todd Brunson and Serge Ravitch

Shane Schleger, Nath Pizzolatto and Vivek Rajkumar

Thayer Rasmussen and Jose Canseco

The other night was a bit crazy when we were about to film our first Poker Netcast and Two Rags home game. We were expecting a few experienced players but the line up ended being much better than expected.

I first answered the door to Jose Canseco who is every bit his size. He showed up on a motorcycle and in full on motorcycle gear. When he walked through the front door, he had to duck as to not hit his head. I swear he is almost 7 feet tall and 4 feet wide. He is HUGE and he is actually a really nice guy and he's not a bad poker player. He's gotten much better at poker over this past year to every body's surprise.

10 minutes later the door bell rings. I open up the front door and standing there was none other than Todd Brunson and Layne Flack. I was surprised to see them since the WPT LA Poker Classic at the Commerce Casino was to start the following day and I just figured that all of the big players would be at the casino and not playing in a home game but that was not the case with Todd and Layne. We were happy to have them play in our game.

As they were coming into the house the rest of the players showed up; I didn't recognize any of the younger players as they normally play online poker.

Here was the final 10 player line up:

Shane Schleger
Nath Pizzolatto
Vivek Rajkumar
Mike Watson
Shaun Deeb
Layne Flack
Todd Brunson
Serge Ravitch
Thayer Rasmussen
Jose Canseco

The game started around 6pm and everybody left around midnight. It was a GREAT tournament with monster pots, bad beats, great poker and everybody had a good time.

You'll be surprised to see who busted out first, how long Todd and Layne lasted vs the young online players, how Jose Canseco play AND who actually won the event. Every hand was recorded through the special hole card cameras, as the players busted out they sat with our commentators (Scott and Kyle from Two Rags) etc...

You can watch this on Poker Netcast
in a few weeks once the new site is up and running........

Dognapped possibly as a fighting dog and that there is a ring of theifs in SoCal

Monday evening (Feb. 11, 2008) outside the 7-11 @ Cahuenga and Yucca in Hollywood, "Hambone" was taken by two men, put into a van and kidnapped in broad daylight!

One man approached the dog, starting petting it asking if it was a puppy. The person watching the dog mistakenly said "Yes," when a van pulled up, the suspect unleashed the dog, jumped into the van and sped off.

The van has been described as:
A Green work van (like an Astro van), with a crappy paint job. On the roof of the van is a light bar "W2" is painted on the driver's side.Hambone is a Pit Bull and was possibly picked up as a fighting dog and that there is a ring of theives operating in SoCal.......

Please help us break up this dog fighting ring and bring Hambone back safely. Because the van that the two men jumped into is so distinct, we are confident with the public's help that this van will be spotted, license plate reported and the men will ultimately be arrested and Hambone will be brought back home.

Hambone has a black body with a white head. One blue eye, and one brown. He is gentle and submissive. Please email eric.leemon@gmail.com with any information or post here.
