&lt;br /&gt;admitted that he enjoyed the game of poker, but claimed that he is no longer playing when it became illegal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This immediately reminded me of Clinton informing everybody that he tried marijuana once but that he did not inhale. I hope that &lt;a href="http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00021694.html"&gt;Michael Phelps&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;doesn't get into any more trouble for admitting that he tried marijuana.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The only problem with Steve's comment is that online poker is not illegal in the US. His perception is shared by many people, even though it is incorrect. The Poker Players Alliance has been fighting for years to have poker exempt from the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. The law prohibits all forms of gambling online in games of chance. Poker is not a game of chance, poker is a game of skill and therefore is not covered by UIGEA rules.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Judges in both Colorado and Pennsylvania have ruled that the game of poker is one of skill. The judges each threw out charges against people who were being tried for illegal gambling involving poker. The judges' rulings have solidified poker players beliefs and have caused an increase in customers sign ups at popular online poker sites.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While Martin said in the interview that he would never again take Ambien, the good news for him is that if wants to take up Internet poker in the future, he can do so without the worry of doing anything illegal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch next time.....&lt;br /&gt;Pack Leader&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-6343655229919783674?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2009/02/poker-and-marijuana.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-8292536803723394311</guid><pubDate>Wed, 21 Jan 2009 00:29:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2009-01-20T16:35:04.561-08:00</atom:updated><title>PokerPadz Sale</title><description>&lt;a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/SXZtlXBClvI/AAAAAAAAAMI/UD6-vQjDcvM/s1600-h/WPT+Tilted+Pad+ALTERED+small+Alabiba.jpg"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5293538900621563634" style="DISPLAY: block; Latin American Poker Tour's Nuevo Vallarta main event has been suspended prematurely and indefinitely at the Marival Grand and Club Suites in Mexico this weekend.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Day 1 of the second event on the LAPT's second season was proceeding smoothly into the night, with 89 of the original 242 runners still in contention with 46 minutes left in the ninth and penultimate level of the evening when tournament director Mike Ward called an unscheduled stop to the action at about 10:30 p.m. CT on Friday evening.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A few minutes later, all players were asked in Spanish to leave the tournament room and shortly after that, the media, TV crews and dealers were evicted as well, sending the entirety of LAPT contingent out into the ante chambers of the Marival resort with little information as to why or for how long their play had been suspended.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Four hours later, the answers are still unclear as we await official comment from &lt;a href="http://www.pokerlistings.com/poker-stars"&gt;PokerStars&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Apparently PokerStars and LAPT officials still in heavy negotiations with local government and gaming officials and nothing as yet resolved, Ward instructed his players to return on Saturday at noon C.T. for word as to whether the tournament will continue as planned or whether alternate arrangements will have to be made. At the time of writing, no indication had been given as to what those alternate arrangements might be.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was a bizarre and rather startling interruption in what had been up to that point a relatively exciting LAPT event. Team PokerStars pros &lt;a href="http://www.pokerlistings.com/poker-player_greg-raymer"&gt;Greg Raymer&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://www.pokerlistings.com/poker-player_victor-ramdin"&gt;Victor Ramdin&lt;/a&gt; were leading a contingent of survivors that included Maria "Maridu" Mayrinck, &lt;a href="http://www.pokerlistings.com/poker-player_alex-brenes"&gt;Alex Brenes&lt;/a&gt;, Gualter Salles and LAPT2 Costa Rica champ Ryan Fee, while fellow pros Andre Akkari, &lt;a href="http://www.pokerlistings.com/poker-player_alexandre-gomes"&gt;Alexandre Gomes&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://www.pokerlistings.com/poker-player_humberto-brenes"&gt;Humberto Brenes&lt;/a&gt; numbered among the ranks of those already eliminated.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Meanwhile stick with PokerListings.com for full coverage of this developing story as they get to the bottom of this extremely unusual situation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch next time.....&lt;br /&gt;Pack Leader&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-5929268173296962087?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2008/12/mexico-lapt-pokerstars-event-suspended.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-934610099382809153</guid><pubDate>Fri, 05 Dec 2008 18:34:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2008-12-05T10:35:23.240-08:00</atom:updated><title>World Blogger Championship of Online Poker Again</title><description>&lt;div style="WIDTH: 100%; HEIGHT: 140px"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.pokerstars.com/blog_tournament/"&gt;&lt;img style="MARGIN-RIGHT: 10px" alt="Online Poker" src="http://www.pokerstars.com/images/wbcoop/WBCOOP_banner2.gif" align="left" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;p&gt;I have registered to play in the &lt;a href="http://www.pokerstars.com/blog_tournament/"&gt;PokerStars World Blogger Championship of Online Poker&lt;/a&gt;!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The WBCOOP is an online &lt;a href="http://www.pokerstars.com/"&gt;Poker&lt;/a&gt; tournament open to all Bloggers.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Registration code:&lt;br /&gt;document.write(paramCode)&lt;br /&gt;292886&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch next time.....&lt;br /&gt;Pack Leader &lt;/p&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-934610099382809153?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2008/12/world-blogger-championship-of-online.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-4394534075931486047</guid><pubDate>Thu, 20 Nov 2008 02:47:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2008-11-19T18:53:21.197-08:00</atom:updated><title>Bailout Solution for the Big 3 Automakers</title><description>I'm happy to see that congress is not bailing out the Big 3 Automakers for many reasons that I won't get into as my goal with this blog is to present a simple solution to fix this problem.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The oil companies should provide the money to bail them out.....They are making record profits and they have the most to gain or loose by the success or failure of these companies.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's pretty simple actually......&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch next time.....&lt;br /&gt;Pack Leader&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-4394534075931486047?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2008/11/bailout-solution-for-big-3-automakers.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-5668568944629377232</guid><pubDate>Thu, 13 Nov 2008 22:55:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2008-11-13T15:13:02.908-08:00</atom:updated><title>Obama it is</title><description>President-elect Barack Obama resigns from senate.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Obama's press office has just released the following (via email): &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"It has been one of the highest honors and privileges of my life to have served the people of Illinois in the United States Senate. In a state that represents the crossroads of a nation, I have met so many men and women who've taken different journeys, but hold common hopes for their children's future. It is these Illinois families and their stories that will stay with me as I leave the United States Senate and begin the hard task of fulfilling the simple hopes and common dreams of all Americans as our nation's next President," said President-elect Barack Obama.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Lucky for him, he's already got another gig lined up. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's hope that he not only focus on the economy but that he gets behind the UIGEA.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Everybody should send an email to the Obama Transition team and tell President-elect Obama that once in office he should immediately turn back the UIGEA and other "midnight rules" issued by President Bush.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch next time.....&lt;br /&gt;Pack Leader&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-5668568944629377232?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2008/11/obama-it-is.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-1684739874601665331</guid><pubDate>Sun, 07 Sep 2008 01:26:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2008-09-06T18:40:42.240-07:00</atom:updated><title>MS Team PokerPadz in 5 days and counting</title><description>&lt;div&gt;We are ONLY 5 days away to walking 50 miles in 3 days in order to support the cure for Multiple Sclerosis walk.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's all about movement and we will be doing just that!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Our MS Team Pokerpadz is seeking donations, we have raised over $11,000 yet our goal is $100,000.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At the end of the day whatever we have all donated will go to a fantastic cause and hopefully a cure in the near future.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Our poker community is very generous and we are confident that we can meet this goal with your help and through friends of friends.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The direct link to a tax free donation is:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Challenge/MNMChallengeWalkEvents?team_id=96470&amp;amp;pg=team&amp;amp;fr_id=7920&amp;amp;s_tafId=67105/"&gt;MS Team PokerPadz&lt;/a&gt; There were 450 players and he finished in 6th place, the above photo is him sitting at this final table.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This year Bill is one of the "shooting stars" that other players will be trying to knock out. There are 50 "shooting stars" in this event, each with a $5,000 bounty on their head. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We wish Bill the best of lady luck and hope that he takes down this event.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the meantime we urge everybody to join our walking team or make a donation while we continue to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis - &lt;a href="http://www.nationalmssociety.org/goto/pokerpadz "&gt;MS Team Pokerpadz &lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch next time.....&lt;br /&gt;Pack Leader&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-6925420993162220493?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2008/03/ms-team-pokerpadz-bill-edler-kicks-of.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R9MRsqRnOvI/AAAAAAAAAIg/6VKb_4Fg0lY/s72-c/Bill+Edler+WPT+Photo.png' height='72' width='72'/></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-4044987779644366785</guid><pubDate>Sun, 02 Mar 2008 20:28:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2008-12-08T14:48:05.313-08:00</atom:updated><title>MS Team Pokerpadz Andy Bloch NBC Heads Up Championship one of the Final 8 players</title><description>&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8sPehbj97I/AAAAAAAAAIQ/EJEF_yaERVY/s1600-h/AB.jpg"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173245614009612210" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8sPehbj97I/AAAAAAAAAIQ/EJEF_yaERVY/s320/AB.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here we are again on the eve of a major poker tournament and a famous poker player makes a generous donation to &lt;a href="http://www.nationalmssociety.org/goto/pokerpadz "&gt;MS Team PokerPadz&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;64 players started in the NBC Heads Up Championship and we are now down to the Quarterfinal matches where only 8 players remain:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Orel Hershiser vs. Andy Bloch &lt;br /&gt;Jonathan Little vs. Chris Ferguson &lt;br /&gt;Gus Hansen vs. Phil Ivey &lt;br /&gt;Huck Seed vs. David Benyamine &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After Andy's last match he jumped on his computer and made a generous donation to &lt;a href="http://www.nationalmssociety.org/goto/pokerpadz "&gt;MS Team PokerPadz&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Again, this just shows how giving poker players are even in the heat of competition. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's hope that this is just the beginning of the big poker players getting behind &lt;a href="http://www.nationalmssociety.org/goto/pokerpadz "&gt;MS Team PokerPadz&lt;/a&gt;. So far we have Phil Hellmuth, Jan Fisher, Andy Bloch and a few private donations.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Keep the donations coming in as our goal is to raise 100K, find a cure for MS while showing the world how generous poker players are in charitiy work.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch next time.....&lt;br /&gt;Pack Leader&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-4044987779644366785?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2008/03/ms-team-pokerpadz-andy-bloch-nbc-heads.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8sPehbj97I/AAAAAAAAAIQ/EJEF_yaERVY/s72-c/AB.jpg' height='72' width='72'/></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-1778736849625332225</guid><pubDate>Thu, 28 Feb 2008 18:50:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2008-12-08T14:48:05.610-08:00</atom:updated><title>MS Team PokerPadz WPT LA Poker Classic battle of the Phil's</title><description>&lt;a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8cFB4fY6kI/AAAAAAAAAII/GqeLkmvjijg/s1600-h/ph.jpg"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172108226960353858" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8cFB4fY6kI/AAAAAAAAAII/GqeLkmvjijg/s320/ph.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today is the final table of the World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic at the Commerce Casino.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The buy-in was $9,900, 665 players equaling $6,288,000 in total prize pool....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.pokerlistings.com/poker-player_jennifer-tilly"&gt;Jennifer Tilly&lt;/a&gt; finished 12&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; - way to go Jennifer taking home a cool $61,610!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And an &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;excellent&lt;/span&gt; performance by &lt;a href="http://www.tworags.com/blog/sirwatts/post/2027/lapc_day_5"&gt;Mike Watson&lt;/a&gt;, finishing 10&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; taking home $61,610, as well. He played in the Poker &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;Netcast&lt;/span&gt; home game the night before the main event and I'm confident that playing in this game helped him to brush up on his poker skills and allowed him to finish so strong. He's an excellent commentator and can be watched at www.pokernetcast.com in a few weeks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, we are down to the final 6 players and it's come down to the battle of the Phil's:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;Chip count&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Phil &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;Ivey&lt;/span&gt; 4,100,000&lt;br /&gt;2. Scott Montgomery 2,680,000&lt;br /&gt;3. Phil &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;Hellmuth&lt;/span&gt; 2,380,000&lt;br /&gt;4. Charles Moore 1,510,000&lt;br /&gt;5. Quinn Do 1,450,000&lt;br /&gt;6. Nam Le 1,180,000&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Which Phil will prevail if any?!?!?!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My prediction is that Phil &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;Hellmuth&lt;/span&gt; will win this entire event. He may not have the most chips starting today but he certainly has the most experience and that alone is priceless.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Something that most people may not know about Phil is his generous heart. Even though he is known in the poker world as the "Poker Brat," Phil is actually a very nice and generous man.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After finishing late last evening Phil and Kathy personally donated a &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;chunk&lt;/span&gt; of change and sponsored me in the upcoming MS Society walk. How cool is that?!?!?! This man has many things on his mind, like winning this event yet takes the time last evening confirming his donation after playing down to the final 6.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now that is one committed man, not only to poker but to life.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I hope others will follow in his footsteps (Thank you Jan Fisher for your donation last evening) and continue to donate to this wonderful cause.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This year we are not only trying to find a cure for MS but we would like to show the rest of the world that the poker community is filled with generous, giving and caring people.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can personally donate to our team by clicking this link - &lt;a href="http://www.nationalmssociety.org/goto/pokerpadz"&gt;MS PokerPadz Team&lt;/a&gt; and/or feel free to join our walking team. Either way it's a commitment that truly helps others.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Good luck PH, may the poker gods be by your side tonight....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch next time....&lt;br /&gt;Pack Leader&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-1778736849625332225?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2008/02/wpt-la-poker-classic-battle-of-phils.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8cFB4fY6kI/AAAAAAAAAII/GqeLkmvjijg/s72-c/ph.jpg' height='72' width='72'/></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-1040805768127659969</guid><pubDate>Mon, 25 Feb 2008 18:47:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2008-12-08T14:48:06.313-08:00</atom:updated><title>Poker Netcast and Two Rags Home Game</title><description>&lt;a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8Mbwqx1VKI/AAAAAAAAAIA/71_5adsR8pU/s1600-h/Feb+2008+010.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5171007320082437282" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8Mbwqx1VKI/AAAAAAAAAIA/71_5adsR8pU/s320/Feb+2008+010.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Layne Flack, Todd Brunson and Serge Ravitch&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8MXj6x1VHI/AAAAAAAAAHo/ErSTIQMCWeY/s1600-h/Feb+2008+011.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5171002702992594034" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8MXj6x1VHI/AAAAAAAAAHo/ErSTIQMCWeY/s320/Feb+2008+011.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Shane Schleger, Nath Pizzolatto and Vivek Rajkumar&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8MTo6x1VGI/AAAAAAAAAHg/iDAyqRL7D2Y/s1600-h/Feb+2008+074.JPG"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170998390845428834" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8MTo6x1VGI/AAAAAAAAAHg/iDAyqRL7D2Y/s320/Feb+2008+074.JPG" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; Thayer Rasmussen and Jose Canseco&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The other night was a bit crazy when we were about to film our first Poker Netcast and Two Rags home game. We were expecting a few experienced players but the line up ended being much better than expected.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I first answered the door to Jose Canseco who is every bit his size. He showed up on a motorcycle and in full on motorcycle gear. When he walked through the front door, he had to duck as to not hit his head. I swear he is almost 7 feet tall and 4 feet wide. He is HUGE and he is actually a really nice guy and he's not a bad poker player. He's gotten much better at poker over this past year to every body's surprise.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;10 minutes later the door bell rings. I open up the front door and standing there was none other than Todd Brunson and Layne Flack. I was surprised to see them since the WPT LA Poker Classic at the Commerce Casino was to start the following day and I just figured that all of the big players would be at the casino and not playing in a home game but that was not the case with Todd and Layne. We were happy to have them play in our game.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As they were coming into the house the rest of the players showed up; I didn't recognize any of the younger players as they normally play online poker.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here was the final 10 player line up:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.pokerpages.com/players/profiles/59220/shane-schleger.htm"&gt;Shane Schleger&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.cardplayer.com/players/results/Nath-Pizzolatto/40015"&gt;Nath Pizzolatto&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.bluffmagazine.com/players/vivek-rajkumar/24212/player-profile.asp"&gt;Vivek Rajkumar &lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/2007/09/team-usa-world-cup-winners.html"&gt;Mike Watson&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.pocketfives.com/profiles/shaundeeb"&gt;Shaun Deeb&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.poker-babes.com/bio/layne-flack/"&gt;Layne Flack&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.doylesroom.com/bio/todd.cfm"&gt;Todd Brunson&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.pokerpages.com/players/profiles/94825/serge-ravitch.htm"&gt;Serge Ravitch&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&amp;amp;n=66518"&gt;Thayer Rasmussen&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Canseco"&gt;Jose Canseco&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The game started around 6pm and everybody left around midnight. It was a GREAT tournament with monster pots, bad beats, great poker and everybody had a good time. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You'll be surprised to see who busted out first, how long Todd and Layne lasted vs the young online players, how Jose Canseco play AND who actually won the event. Every hand was recorded through the special hole card cameras, as the players busted out they sat with our commentators (Scott and Kyle from Two Rags) etc...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can watch this on &lt;a href="http://www.pokernetcast.com"&gt;Poker Netcast&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt; in a few weeks once the new site is up and running........&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch next time....Pack Leader &lt;/p&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-1040805768127659969?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2008/02/poker-netcast-home-game.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R8Mbwqx1VKI/AAAAAAAAAIA/71_5adsR8pU/s72-c/Feb+2008+010.JPG' height='72' width='72'/></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-4820208792811120645</guid><pubDate>Wed, 13 Feb 2008 20:29:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2008-12-08T14:48:06.624-08:00</atom:updated><title>Dognapped possibly as a fighting dog and that there is a ring of theifs in SoCal</title><description>&lt;a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R82tH1jLmwI/AAAAAAAAAIY/FsszGGV6JsU/s1600-h/Hambone+and+Eric.jpg"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173981897063897858" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R82tH1jLmwI/AAAAAAAAAIY/FsszGGV6JsU/s320/Hambone+and+Eric.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R7NTbKx1VCI/AAAAAAAAAHA/SBkN1HVl_5Y/s1600-h/Hambone.bmp"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5166564923739034658" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/R7NTbKx1VCI/AAAAAAAAAHA/SBkN1HVl_5Y/s320/Hambone.bmp" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Monday evening (Feb. 11, 2008) outside the 7-11 @ Cahuenga and Yucca in Hollywood, "Hambone" was taken by two men, put into a van and kidnapped in broad daylight!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One man approached the dog, starting petting it asking if it was a puppy. The person watching the dog mistakenly said "Yes," when a van pulled up, the suspect unleashed the dog, jumped into the van and sped off.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The van has been described as:&lt;br /&gt;A Green work van (like an Astro van), with a crappy paint job. On the roof of the van is a light bar "W2" is painted on the driver's side.Hambone is a Pit Bull and was possibly picked up as a fighting dog and that there is a ring of theives operating in SoCal.......&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please help us break up this dog fighting ring and bring Hambone back safely. Because the van that the two men jumped into is so distinct, we are confident with the public's help that this van will be spotted, license plate reported and the men will ultimately be arrested and Hambone will be brought back home.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hambone has a black body with a white head. One blue eye, and one brown. He is gentle and submissive. I mean R E A L L Y?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In case you hadn't heard Jose the premise of LADIES ONLY events is to provide a safe place for women to play poker. LADIES ONLY events translates into men are NOT welcomed to play in these events.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Debbie Burkhead gives a great explanation of &lt;a href="http://www.womenspokerclub.com/db.php"&gt;"Why Have Ladies-Only Tournaments?" &lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's bad enough to worry about a man playing in a LADIES ONLY event BUT could a larger, more intimidating man show up to play at your table?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I personally saw Jose at the Bicycle Casino several weekends ago and he is a monster in size. Perhaps the most intimidating man in the WORLD to sit at a LADIES ONLY poker tournament!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;You should be ashamed of yourself Jose &lt;/strong&gt;for playing in this event!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Apparently 5 other men broke ettiqute and showed what kind of men they really are by enforcing the "no discrimination" policy that casinos must abide by on Saturday, September 15th.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Jose was the first man to bust out of this "ladies" event!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The women tried to shame them from playing in this event, as they should have and hopefully this will be the last of this kind!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Men are not welcomed to play in LADIES ONLY events. It's really that simple.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Congratulations to Gabrielle Wagner who took down first place......&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch next time....&lt;br /&gt;Pack Leader&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-7520634159411929276?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2007/09/pokerpadz-poker-dogs-jose-canseco.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/RvEvv_WcuII/AAAAAAAAAD8/ikEvV9a1GWs/s72-c/JC+Ladies+Poker.jpg' height='72' width='72'/></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-4484567256199367313</guid><pubDate>Mon, 17 Sep 2007 22:36:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2008-12-08T14:48:07.926-08:00</atom:updated><title>PokerPadz® Poker Dogs Lifes a Bluff</title><description>&lt;a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/Ru8GxoD5rSI/AAAAAAAAADc/VOcWlAziam4/s1600-h/Paris+and+Clonie+LAB+JPG.jpg"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5111311551725940002" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/Ru8GxoD5rSI/AAAAAAAAADc/VOcWlAziam4/s320/Paris+and+Clonie+LAB+JPG.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Congratulations to Frank and team at "Lifes a Bluff." It was quite a show as one can imagine, the following 6 ladies played and finished in this order:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kristy Gazes&lt;br /&gt;Linda Johnson&lt;br /&gt;Pam Brunson&lt;br /&gt;Miami Tran&lt;br /&gt;Melissa Hayeden&lt;br /&gt;Joanne "JJ" Liu&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All of the ladies are fantastic poker players, although I was personally cheering for Linda Johnson! Not only is Linda a dear friend of mine but she is an incredible poker player and unfortunately she just didn't get the cards at this table, although she came in second.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Linda had the largest cheering section of all of the players, including her mom, although she is the "Queen of Poker" and she happens to be the announcer for the World Poker Tour for the past 6 years, so she had the entire staff and crew, including Mike Sexton, Vince Van Patten and Layla rooting for her!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here is the play that transpired for the last 3 ladies:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hand #137 - Linda Johnson has the button in seat 6, Brunson moves all in from the small blind, and Gazes asks for a count before she calls with A9. Brunson shows K5, and she'll need to improve to stay alive.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The flop comes 663, and Gazes retains the lead with ace high. The turn card is the Q, and Brunson needs a king or a five to survive.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The river card is the 2, and Gazes wins the pot with ace high. Pam Brunson is eliminated in third place.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Seven hands later of heads up poker:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hand #143 - Linda Johnson has the button, she raises to 82,000, Gazes moves all in, and Johnson immediately calls with JJ. Gazes shows KK, and she's in a dominating position to win the tournament right here. Linda Johnson will need to improve to stay alive.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The flop comes A43, and Gazes retaisns the lead. Johnson needs a jack to win, or a runner-runner straight to chop the pot.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The turn card is the 5, and now a deuce will chop the pot between them. A jack will give the pot to Johnson, doubling her into the chip lead.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The river card pairs the board with the 4, and Kristy Gazes wins the hand -- and Ladies Night V -- with two pair, kings and fours.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Linda Johnson made an excellent showing in second place!!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kristy Gazes is the new WPT Ladies Night V Champion, joining past winners Clonie Gowen, Isabelle Mercier, Jennifer Tilly, and J.J. Liu. With the victory, Gazes receives a $25,000 entry into the Season VI WPT World Championship next April, where she'll try to parlay this into some serious money.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Congratulations to all of the women for making such a great show!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We'll see what I fetch tomorrow!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pack leader&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-8958570447589274136?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2007/09/poker-dogs-viiii.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/RtovjMZ_T3I/AAAAAAAAADE/ne3BhpwBfZY/s72-c/Pam+Brunson+Ladies+Night+Photo.jpg' height='72' width='72'/></item><item><guid isPermaLink='false'>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4249995115757294877.post-1906268936440051911</guid><pubDate>Thu, 30 Aug 2007 17:23:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2008-12-08T14:48:08.711-08:00</atom:updated><title>PokerPadz® Poker Dogs Joe Sebok WPT Legends of Poker</title><description>&lt;a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/RtcHlcZ_T0I/AAAAAAAAACs/GPMeUtLbQaI/s1600-h/Joe+Sebok+JP.jpg"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5104557042509500226" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/RtcHlcZ_T0I/AAAAAAAAACs/GPMeUtLbQaI/s320/Joe+Sebok+JP.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We are down to the final 6 players at the WPT Legends of Poker 2007 here in Bell Gardens, California at the Bicycle Casino.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The final table will start at 5pm and it is a live show, so come on down to the Bicycle Casino to be apart of this final table taping.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The events leading up to the final 6 have been astounding. &lt;a href="http://www.joesebok.com/"&gt;Joe Sebok&lt;/a&gt; was the chip leader through out most of this tournament only to bust out number 7, other wise known as "bubble boy."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is so heartbreaking, as this is Joe's second WPT event that he has busted out number 7 hence not making it to the final table.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think Joe describes how he feels best in his own words "it really just sucks the ass of a goat. There just isn't any other way to say it."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's how the final hand played out:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sebok raised to $120,000 from middle position and was reraised by Schneider out of the small blind. Sebok moved all in, and Schneider called. Sebok tabled pocket queens, and Schneider showed AJ. Sebok retained the lead on the flop when it came 652. However the turn brought a crushing A, and Sebok was drawing to two outs. The river was a brick when it came 10, and Sebok was sent to the rail in seventh place. A sick silence spread throughout the room and disappointment was written across Sebok’s face as he left the room. Many may remember that Sebok was also the television bubble boy at the 2006 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star and the sting of this repeat effect hung heavy in the room. After this development on the bubble, the final six were set and play ended for the night. They will return tomorrow at 5 p.m. to play for the $1,634,865 and the title of Legends of Poker champion.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here is how things will look this evening:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Seat No. 1 - Shi Jia Liu - $1,305,000&lt;br /&gt;Seat No. 2 - &lt;a href="http://www.pokerlistings.com/poker-player_dan-harrington"&gt;Dan Harrington&lt;/a&gt; - $2,230,000&lt;br /&gt;Seat No. 3 - Tom Schneider - $3,495,000&lt;br /&gt;Seat No. 4 - Thu Nguyen - $1,475,000&lt;br /&gt;Seat No. 5 - &lt;a href="http://www.poker.com/poker-pros/david-dragon-pham-poker-pro.htm"&gt;David 'The Dragon' Pham&lt;/a&gt; - $470,000&lt;br /&gt;Seat No. 6 - Mike McClain - $725,000&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tune in to catch all the action live from the Bicycle Casino or live blogging at &lt;a href="http://www.cardplayer.com/"&gt;Cardplayer&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://www.worldpokertour.com/"&gt;World Poker Tour&lt;/a&gt; starting at 5pm!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We will see what I fetch next time....&lt;br /&gt;"Pack Leader"&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4249995115757294877-1906268936440051911?l=pokerpadz.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://pokerpadz.blogspot.com/2007/08/poker-dogs-viii.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (wptinsider)</author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ymX797e2vE8/RtcHlcZ_T0I/AAAAAAAAACs/GPMeUtLbQaI/s72-c/Joe+Sebok+JP.jpg' height='72' width='72'/></item></channel></rss>
